  1. QR Code Scavenger Hunt

Answer each of the following questions in complete sentences:
What was your favorite part of the Scavenger Hunt? (You can have more than one favorite.)
= I enjoyed so much eating cheese balls while I was solving a question from Mr. Healey’s room. I loved the wrong song. Lastly, I liked getting caught by Mr. Patrick although we were power walking and he said that we were.

What was your least favorite part? (Again, more than one least favorite is acceptable.)
= My least favorite part was getting caught by Mr. Patrick although we were power walking. We had to stand still in the middle of the hallway for 30 seconds. Also, we hated the wrong song, it made us so miserably discouraged. Lastly, I don’t like running in jeans.

What would you change about the Scavenger Hunt to make it better? (Additions, Omissions, etc.)
= No QR codes because they take too much time to load. I would love to add eating games during Scavenger Hunt.

    4)  Did you think the QR Codes made the hunt more fun than it would have been without them?  Why or why not?
= It was fun with them because although it takes time loading, it was fun detecting QR Codes and waiting them to load.

    1. Answer each of the following questions in complete sentences:
What was your favorite part of the Scavenger Hunt? (You can have more than one favorite.)
The favorite part of the Scavenger Hunt was taking pictures of QR codes and eating cheese balls from Mr. Healey’s room.

    2. What was your least favorite part? (Again, more than one least favorite is acceptable.)
My least favorite part was walking up and down the stairs. It was very tiring because we had to all around the school.

    3. What would you change about the Scavenger Hunt to make it better? (Additions, Omissions, etc.)
I think the “wrong” songs were awesome, because it made us sigh and laugh at the same time. I think there are no amendments that I have to make.

    4. Did you think the QR Codes made the hunt more fun than it would have been without them?  Why or why not?
Yes, I think QR Codes made the hunt more fun than it would have been without them, because there were funny videos. Also, with the QR codes, we wouldn’t know if we are wrong or right until we find out, so it is mysterious and exciting.

  3. 1) What was your favorite part of the Scavenger Hunt? (You can have more than one favorite.)
I think the favorite part was the traps. For example, Mr. Patrick, when our team was passing by Mr.Patrick's room, we saw other group dancing Gangnam Style because they didn't go to proper place. It was really funny watching them dancing. Also I like the usage of technology, for instance the QR code and different kinds of hints from it.
    2) What was your least favorite part? (Again, more than one least favorite is acceptable.)
My least favorite part of the scavenger was that it was too much QR codes. The QR code thing was very creative and interesting, but I think there were too much QR codes. It would have been better with right amount of QR and other clues too!
    3) What would you change about the Scavenger Hunt to make it better? (Additions, Omissions, etc.)
I think the scavenger hunt will be better if there were some divisions in the scavenger hunt, different routes for different groups depending on their choices. I mean there were only few choices that we can make. So I think it could be better if we can make our own choices. So even though each player have different choices and steps, eventually finish at same place.
    4)  Did you think the QR Codes made the hunt more fun than it would have been without them?  Why or why not?
I think QR code was fun and interesting. However, with QR code, I think there are some limits for varieties of clues. So I think it would be better if there were some QR codes but also some other interesting clues as well!

  4. 1) My favourite part of the scavenger hunt was that we got to travel all over the school to scan these QR codes. I liked the idea that we didn't have to be in one classroom for the entire day, and I also liked that every location with a QR code had a hint as to where we had to go next to solve our math problems.

    2) My least favourite part was that some of the math problems were very confusing. For example, there was a problem that asked us to find the four sums of the diagonals of a cube. Our team took a LONG time to solve that problem, but at least it got us thinking about a complex topic.

    3) I think that I would add more location hints to make the scavenger hunt better. Many of the hints were too easy. I was hoping that the scavenger hunt would include hints that would require a little logic thinking and thinking very hard to find out where the next location was. Also, I think that making the QR codes harder to find would help make the scavenger hunt be more active.

    4) I think that the QR codes made the scavenger hunt more fun because it gave our team one more thing to do along the scavenger hunt. Using the QR codes also allowed us to have a few options in solving a problem. For example, there were two QR codes for solving math problems in a location. There, we could use any QR code as an option to solve a problem. Also, using QR codes allows technology to be applied to a math review scavenger hunt, which was a good idea.

  5. 1) What was your favorite part of the Scavenger Hunt? (You can have more than one favorite.)
My favorite part of the Scavenger Hunt was when Sebin and I went to the wrong place and danced Gangnam Style in front of 7th graders. In the other side, it was embarrassing too. Moreover, I really liked to solve questions in Mr. Healey’s room, since, he let us eat cheese balls and like the way we took a picture of QR Code and scanned it.
    2) What was your least favorite part? (Again, more than one least favorite is acceptable.)
There wasn’t any least favorite part of the Scavenger Hunt. Most of the ideas and even solving the problems were enjoyable. However, if I have to choose one, I kind of didn’t like the way we have to go PAC from G building 6th floor. This is just my personal opinion, since, I don’t like to walk.
    3) What would you change about the Scavenger Hunt to make it better? (Additions, Omissions, etc.)
So far, I really liked the Scavenger Hunt. However, if I could change about the Scavenger Hunt whether than dancing in front of the class, I will let students to solve few more questions in order to move to the next station because there were a lot of people I see who didn’t even dance and just tries to leave.
4)Did you think the QR Codes made the hunt more fun than it would have been without them?  Why or why not?
In my personal opinion, QR Codes definitely made the Scavenger Hunt more fun than it would have been without them because it seems like we’re one of the detectives who tries to figure out some solutions. I don’t know why but without the QR Codes, it won’t be fun enough than we do have it.

  6. 1) What was your favorite part of the Scavenger Hunt? (You can have more than one favorite.)
My favorite part of the scavenger hunt was getting the picture clues from the QR code and figuring out where to go next. This was very fun because I liked how the pictures sort of "twisted" the next place around, such as the Pacman picture for the PAC.

    2) What was your least favorite part? (Again, more than one least favorite is acceptable.)
Firstly, running around the whole school was very tiring, because I had to go from G6 to the PAC, and etc. Another thing that I didn't enjoy was dancing. It was very embarrassing and also the video didn't work.

    3) What would you change about the Scavenger Hunt to make it better? (Additions, Omissions, etc.)
I think that this scavenger hunt was pretty good, but one thing that I would change is the length. It was a bit too long. Even though there weren't a lot of problems, going around from place to place took too long. So maybe next time the path should be easier(not going up and down).

    4)  Did you think the QR Codes made the hunt more fun than it would have been without them?  Why or why not?
Yes, I do think that the QR codes made this activity more fun. The technology part made it more interesting. If there were no QR codes, it would have been impossible to put in the videos or the other pictures. Without those things, it would have been very boring.

  7. 1) What was your favorite part of the Scavenger Hunt? (You can have more than one favorite.)
Me and my partner did not get to this part but we heard about some teams having to scare random people which I really wanted to do, but we didn't get to it.

    2) What was your least favorite part? (Again, more than one least favorite is acceptable.)
My least favorite part is having to get your own QR code reader because we kept on having technical issues which slowed us down some bit.

    3) What would you change about the Scavenger Hunt to make it better? (Additions, Omissions, etc.)
I would have the IT office supply us with an I-Pad, other than that I thought that everything else was perfectly planned and setup.

    4) Did you think the QR Codes made the hunt more fun than it would have been without them? Why or why not?
Yes the QR codes did make the hunt much more fun because it would give you a taste of suspense when its loading and if would have you really think about where you have to go when you are given the clues.

  8. My favorite part of the scavenger hunt was the QR code and the various traps such as the principle's office. I liked the fact that technology was added to the scavenger hunt.

My least favorite part was the video we received when we went to the wrong place. For the first few times, it was funny. However, it just annoyed me and the video soon made me feel a little bad in the end.

To make the scavenger hunt better, I would make the clues a little more clear so students won't get lost that much. For this scavenger hunt, the number of traps were too high. I think the traps took too much time away from the students.

I think the QR code did make the scavenger hunt more enjoyable because it allowed the teachers to make the hint either more clear or hard to understand. Also, QR codes allowed things like traps and the Wrong Song.

  9. Answer each of the following questions in complete sentences:

    1. What was your favorite part of the Scavenger Hunt? (You can have more than one favorite.)
One of my favorite part of the Scavenger Hunt was when my partner and I got to eat delicious cheese balls in Mr. Healey’s room which was like our first part of the scavenger hunt race. Another thing about this scavenger hunt that I really liked was the QR code. I liked this idea because it was almost same as using a spy gadgets to solve mysteries around the school.

    2. What was your least favorite part? (Again, more than one least favorite is acceptable.)
Although I really liked this scavenger hunt, one thing I did not like about was when the QR code applications started to lag. Yes, in fact I really enjoyed using the QR codes because it was like a spy gadget and we had to solve mysteries. However, some QR code applications had some lagging or loading problems which slowed my group by a little. This was the reason why I downloaded three different QR code applications. Finally, one last thing I did not like about this scavenger hunt was that the locations were too far away from each other’s. We had to run up to Mr. Mclean’s class to the Korean teacher’s class and later we also had to go to the PAC. It was really tiring to run/power walk/walk up and down since it was also like the last period before the school ended.

    3. What would you change about the Scavenger Hunt to make it better? (Additions, Omissions, etc.)
Some things I would like to change about the Scavenger Hunt is to make the stations or the problems a little bit shorter and also provide an additional applications which will be almost like the backup for the QR code. Waiting for the QR code to load up even took my group 3~5 minutes for one stations.

     4. Did you think the QR Codes made the hunt more fun than it would have been without them?  Why or why not?
In my opinion I believe the QR Codes made the hunt more fun than it would have been without them although my partner and I did not like the loading or the lagging part. In math class, we rarely use electronic device except for a calculator and our mac to check our homework. However, using our phone as the electric device in which we will have to use to solve math problem was very cool. As I told you earlier, it was like a spy gadget where you would become a spy and had to solve mysteries.

  10. 1) What was your favorite part of the Scavenger Hunt? (You can have more than one favorite.)
My favorite part of the Scavenger Hunt was the video where Dr. Cox said "Wrong, wrong, wrong". Not only was it fun, but it also clearly sent the message that our group had to retrace what we did to find our mistake. Last time, we couldn't really check if our answers were right or wrong.

    2) What was your least favorite part? (Again, more than one least favorite is acceptable.)
My least favorite part was where our group got stuck in the Ed Tech station for over 20 minutes. We were so close to the answer, yet we couldn't get it because both of us did not understand the concept fully. We tried to find you (Mr. Jobe), but you were somewhere else, and the Ed Tech offered minimal help. That was where we kind of gave up, acknowledging the fact that we were doomed.

    3) What would you change about the Scavenger Hunt to make it better? (Additions, Omissions, etc.)
If I could change something about the Scavenger Hunt to make it better, I would make it more unique by matching up partners with different classes of the same block. By doing this, we can have more interaction with others, outside of our class. As the year ends, it really gets boring to do the same repeating thing with the same classmates over and over again.

    4) Did you think the QR Codes made the hunt more fun than it would have been without them? Why or why not?
In my opinion, I really do not see the reason why QR Codes are necessary. I see how it all relates to use of new technology, but really, it just makes things complicated. I hated it when our group went to places where we could receive wifi or 3G/LTE services that was required to open QR codes. This included the basements and the cage.

  11. 1. My favorite part of the hunt was the QR codes and the videos because some of them made us laugh. Like the one that you scared us.

    2. My least favorite part was dancing in front of the other class because we got a question wrong.

    3. I would make the hints a little bit harder because it was too easy to find where we needed to go. Another thing that i might change about this is that there could be like many routes that could lead to the answer not only one because in math there is many ways to get to the correct answer too

    4. I personally think the QR codes made a lot of the things easier and very fun because in some of the QR codes there were videos and I really liked them. It was just better than reading of a paper.

  12. 1) My favorite part of the Scavenger Hunt was figuring out clues on where to go next, and really working this out with my partner in solving the math problems, and analyzing clues.

    2) My least favorite part was having to run up and down the stairs because it was really tiring, and I was really sweating by the end of the hunt.

    3) I would like the clues to be more mysterious, so we would have some more fun in trying to figure out the clue. I would also like for the places to not be so far apart, so that less stairs will be climbed.

    4) Yes, I think the QR Codes made the hunt more fun because it allowed multiple choice questions to be created, and made some of the groups goto wrong places because they got the wrong answer, and this also affected how fast a group finished the hunt, so there was a lot of thrill.

  13. 1) What was your favorite part of the Scavenger Hunt? (You can have more than one favorite.)
I loved QR code and videos~ Especially the one you took a long time ago with pretty long hair. That made me laugh.

    2) What was your least favorite part? (Again, more than one least favorite is acceptable.)
PacMan... We had no idea where it is... Then we actually went to ask a teacher. He told us, but I still didn't get why pac man = PAC till I was typing just a few seconds ago... So sad... Fortunately we didn't get any wrong answers so I didn't need to dance. I saw others coming into our classroom and dance in front of us. Another one is in the end you have to scare 3 people. We had a hard time...

    3) What would you change about the Scavenger Hunt to make it better? (Additions, Omissions, etc.)
I didn't wear a sport shoe... :( More tiring than PE!!! Probably make it shorter or closer? And by the way the red marker stuff is still on my hand...
    4) Did you think the QR Codes made the hunt more fun than it would have been without them? Why or why not?
I think the QR Codes made the hunt more fun since videos are involved :)

  14. What was your favorite part of the Scavenger Hunt? (You can have more than one favorite.)
My favorite part of the Scavenger Hunt was that it was very tense, and also it is like a competition, and competitions are always fun. I don’t know if you know, but it is sort of like the TV program, “Running man,” solving problems to find the next destination.

What was your least favorite part? (Again, more than one least favorite is acceptable.)
My least favorite part was when Mr.Jobe’s face came out of the video, saying “Wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong..” over and over again. We had to go back to the Nurse’s office 3 times, because we got all three wrong. In addition, another part I hated was that I needed to dance Gangnam style in front of the class. It was the most embarrassing in front of the 8th graders.

What would you change about the Scavenger Hunt to make it better? (Additions, Omissions, etc.)
One thing I think I would change about the Scavenger Hunt is that, the clues for the next destinations were too easy. I reckoned if those were harder, it would be more fun to figure out and actually use your brain to figure out the next destination, instead of being so obvious that it is more like a running race between teams.

    4)  Did you think the QR Codes made the hunt more fun than it would have been without them?  Why or why not?
The QR Code made the hunt way more fun than it would have been without them, honestly. It was so fun to scan them. I loved how it made that “beep” sound whenever our phones scanned the QR Code.

  15. 1. What was your favorite part of the Scavenger Hunt? (You can have more than one favorite.)
My favorite part of Scavenger Hunt was competing against other teams, and moving to other stations. I enjoyed watching the station videos, and I also had fun completing the mission given at some stations too.

    2. What was your least favorite part? (Again, more than one least favorite is acceptable.)
There wasn’t a particular part that I disliked about the Scavenger Hunt. I liked reviewing through questions at every station, and the competition was entertaining too. However, I didn’t really like going to stations that were far away from our previous stations because we had to hurry down and up the stairs to win the other teams.

    3. What would you change about the Scavenger Hunt to make it better? (Additions, Omissions, etc.)
I really enjoyed the Scavenger Hunt, but if I were to change one thing, I would like to make some stations at a closer distance, so that we don’t get too tired before even solving the problems.

    4. Did you think the QR Codes made the hunt more fun than it would have been without them?  Why or why not?
I think the QR Codes made the hunt more fun than it would have been without them because that made it more challenging throughout the Scavenger Hunt. When many teams were together at the same station, teams sometimes pushed each other to scan the QR Codes first, and I think that added more tension to the Scavenger Hunt.

  16. 1) What was your favorite part of the Scavenger Hunt? (You can have more than one favorite.)
My favorite part of the scavenger hunt was the part when the wrong answered QR code still lead to a place where it required you to dance and there were people who thought that when they danced, they would get the next station.

    2) What was your least favorite part? (Again, more than one least favorite is acceptable.)
My least favorite part was when the QR code were scatted everywhere but they were really far apart for example, to get to Mr.McLean's science classroom to P.A.C and middle school building third floor to the basketball cage was tiring to run.

    3) What would you change about the Scavenger Hunt to make it better? (Additions, Omissions, etc.)
If I had to change, I would change the location of QR code to focused on one building but harder to find since I was tired from all those stairs running.

    4)  Did you think the QR Codes made the hunt more fun than it would have been without them?  Why or why not?
I think QR Code did make the hunt more fun because without it, it would have been just answering questions and going to the next station however, QR code made it fun since some group did not know some clues such as the one with the packman.

    1) What was your favorite part of the Scavenger Hunt? (You can have more than one favorite.)
The favorite part of the Scavenger hunt was when I had to run around the school and find clues. Also I really liked when there was funny parts of the Scavenger Hunt -- Gangnam Style!

    2) What was your least favorite part? (Again, more than one least favorite is acceptable.)
The least favorite part was also having to dance Gangnam Style when I got the wrong answer, it was embarrassing. Also when I had to run long distances for a question, it was a bit tiresome.

    3) What would you change about the Scavenger Hunt to make it better? (Additions, Omissions, etc.)
I think for Scavenger Hunt, there should be a set area of QR codes so that the students get to solve more problems than running around.

    4) Did you think the QR Codes made the hunt more fun than it would have been without them? Why or why not?
I didn't like finding the QR codes because if Wi-fi was weak, then it would take us longer time to get to the problem, and it wouldn't be fun. I wish there were just questions stuck on the wall. But overall, the QR Code Scavenger Hunt was fun! :D
