There are some candies in the jar, and Bob put two more candies into the jar. But he gave 2/5 to his brother and ate two of them. Then, he had 10 candies left. How many did he have originally?

    1. it makes perfect sense and it is a logical explanation for the problem. The only thing is that the idea is not-so-original and it is kind of complex to read (i need to read it 3 times before understanding it. There are some grammar mistake as you kept switching from past tense to present tense, and that kind of confused me.

The story fits with the equation and is functional, and I think it is a good word problem for this equation. It is easy to understand, and write the actual equation. One mistake they made is that the equation says its 3/5 but they wrote 2/5 in the word problem. The story is well thought of but I think it can become more creative with more interesting things going on. Overall, this equation was easy to understand and write out the equation.

We like your story problem! Short but explained thoroughly, with all details needed. We have pretty much nothing to say, except the fact that it could have been more creative, and like the group above mentioned, you should stick to one tense. Anyways, we wish you good luck!

    Final Draft:
On Christmas eve, Santa packed all the presents, and started delivering the presents with rudolph. When Santa visited Donner's house, he secretly went down the chimney, and carefully left some presents next to the tree. But after a few hours, Donner's dad didn't notice the presents that Santa had left, so he put two more presents next to the tree. The next day, When Donner woke up, he gave 2/5 of the presents to his younger brother Blitzen, and he had 3/5 left. Then, Donner was so excited that he unwrapped two of his presents before showing his parents. If Donner has only 10 presents (that are wrapped) left, How many did he have originally?
