    1. Hee Sun and Sean, Daniel and Sarah liked your creativity. You didn't have any grammatical errors in your problem. However, your equation didn't match up with your problem. You have two different variables, which will result as the equation y(4+x)/7=7. This doesn't match up with your original equation. We really liked your creativity!

This story sort of fits with the equation, but it’s very hard to understand. When we first read this word problem, we didn’t know what it meant, but as we compared the equation and the story, it sort of made sense. But, if we didn’t know what equation it represented, we wouldn’t have been able to come up with this equation. To fix this, we think on the first sentence, it should be “Fredric” had bags of candy with 9 pieces in each bag. Another confusing part was, in each bag, is there a mix of blue and red candies, or only one color per bag? We think this equation only makes sense if there is only one color per bag. To make this clearer, you should add the sentence, “Fredric had bags of candy with 9 pieces of candy in each bag. Each bag only contains one color; either red or blue.” The good thing was that there weren’t any grammatical mistakes evident. Some positive points are that the idea is creative and the equation could make sense easily after a few changes.

Hee Sun and Sean’s word problem didn’t have any grammatical mistakes throughout the story. However, Edward and I couldn’t know the purpose of this word problem and couldn’t know the what this story represents without looking the equation which Mr. Jobe provided for us. Also, your word problem might be able to understand easier when the bag contains only one color. If there are both red and blue candies then there will be two variables which doesn’t match up with this word problem. I think your purpose was to make this problem really complicated but still you have to use only one variable. Also, it might be much better if you write Fredric in front of this sentence which is “There are bags of candy with 9 pieces in each bag.” Also, your variable is number of bags of one color that was your only big mistakes and other things were good. Moreover, this was sort of creative but in order to make the better one, why don’t you use more creative names or interesting purpose or theme of this word problem.

On Halloween day, Bob received four candies from his girlfriend and he trick or treated a certain amount of candies going around nine freaky houses. He decided to eat a certain amount of candies everyday in a week. After he ate the candies for one week, he was left with seven candies in the end.
